To run the handheldcleanup.exe tool, complete the following steps:
For BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 2.0
From a command prompt, go to C:Program FilesResearch In MotionBlackBerry Enterprise Server
For BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 2.1 through 5.0
From a command prompt, go to C:Program FilesResearch In MotionBlackBerry Enterprise ServerUtility
Type handheldcleanup <switch> where <switch> is one of the values described in the tables below.
A window will appear and prompt to select a profile - select the Server profile.
Type in the BlackBerry Enterprise Server name as it appears in BlackBerry Manager.
Restart all the BlackBerry Enterprise Server services. The process will take about 5-10 minutes before the BlackBerry smartphone Last Contact Time is updated.
Important: Restarting certain BlackBerry Enterprise Server services will delay email message delivery to BlackBerry smartphones. For more information, see KB04789.
Note: Step 5 is is not required, unless the BlackBerry smartphone user′s mailbox is moved from one store to another on the same Microsoft® Exchange Server.

Dumps information for all BlackBerry Enterprise Server instances.
-d
Dumps information for all BlackBerry smartphones on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
-f:<file_name>
Specifies the name of the output file to which BlackBerry smartphone information is dumped. If a file name is not provided, the information is displayed on the computer monitor.
-m
Checks the BlackBerry Enterprise Server mailboxes to verify if any mailboxes have been moved.
-s:<file_name>
Specifies the name of the output file to which BlackBerry Enterprise Server information is dumped. If a file name is not provided, the information is displayed on the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) or the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Management console.
-u
Verifies and updates mailboxes and determines whether any mailboxes have been moved. If a mailbox has been moved, the mailbox ServerDN is sent to the Global Address List (GAL) ServerDN. Only BlackBerry smartphones with a modified ServerDN are printed.
Note: The GAL does not contain hidden mailboxes.

The Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) connect string for the database should be surrounded by double quotation marks. Otherwise, the connect string will be retrieved from the registry.
-d
Dumps information for each BlackBerry smartphone.
-u
Verifies and updates mailboxes and determines whether any mailboxes have been moved. If a mailbox has been moved, the mailbox ServerDN is sent to the Global Address List (GAL) ServerDN. Only BlackBerry smartphones with a modified ServerDN are printed.
The handheldcleanup.exe tool must be run when logged in as the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service account. The most common use of this utility is the handheldcleanup.exe -u switch after a mailbox is moved to resolve GAL lookup issues.
