To enable wireless calendar synchronization, choose the method that corresponds to the BlackBerry Device Software below:

For BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry Device Software versions 3.7 to 3.8

BlackBerry® Desktop Manager must be configured in order for Intellisync® to synchronize with a particular translator.  BlackBerry Desktop Manager performs an initial serial synchronization, after which wireless calendar synchronization is enabled.

Prior to enabling wireless calendar synchronization, complete the following steps:

1. Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer and synchronize the Calendar between the BlackBerry smartphone and the mail client to verify that the systems are current on both the BlackBerry smartphone and the computer.
2. Back up the calendar database of the BlackBerry smartphone using the Backup and Restore tool in BlackBerry Desktop Manager. For instructions, see the “Back up device information” section in the Desktop Manager Online Help.

Follow the steps bellow to enable wireless calendar synchronization:

1. In BlackBerry Desktop Manager, open Intellisync, and click Configure PIM.
2. In the Configuration window, select the Calendar application and click Choose.
3. In the list of available translators, select BlackBerry Wireless Sync and click OK.
4. In the Configuration window, verify that the Calendar application check box is selected and click OK.
5. In the Intellisync window, select the Synchronize PIM check box and click Synchronize Now. Depending on your email client, one of the following warnings will appear:

   For Microsoft Outlook email client:

   If you continue with the operation, your existing handheld calendar will be erased and will be replaced with your Outlook Calendar.

   For IBM Lotus Notes email client:

   Note: Enabling BlackBerry wireless calendar synchronization will replace your existing handheld appointments with your desktop calendar.

6. Click OK to continue.  The calendar items from the mail program are transferred to the Calendar application on the BlackBerry smartphone.  As long as the check box is selected next to the Calendar application in the Configuration window, wireless calendar synchronization is enabled.  If the check box is cleared, wireless calendar synchronization is disabled.

For BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry Device Software versions 4.0 to 4.5

To enable wireless calendar synchronization from a BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:

1. From the BlackBerry smartphone Home screen, open Calendar.
2. Click the menu key and select Options.
3. In the Calendar Options window, scroll to the Wireless Synchronization field and click the menu key.
4. Select Change Option and select Yes.
5. Click the menu key and select Save.  Wireless calendar synchronization is enabled.
