Add and remove BlackBerry smartphone users from a BlackBerry Enterprise Server

Overview

To add a BlackBerry smartphone user to a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, perform the following steps:

BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.0 for Microsoft® Exchange

  1. Open BlackBerry Manager.
  2. Right-click the appropriate BlackBerry Enterprise Server name.
  3. Go to Add Users > From Global Address List.
  4. Select the BlackBerry smartphone user you wish to add.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Click OK.

Any other BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version and platform

  1. In the left pane of BlackBerry Manager, click the appropriate BlackBerry Enterprise Server name.
  2. On the Server Configuration tab, click Common.
  3. Click Add Users.
  4. Select the BlackBerry smartphone user you wish to add.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Click OK.

To remove a BlackBerry smartphone user from a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, perform the following steps:

BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.0 for Microsoft Exchange

  1. Open BlackBerry Manager.
  2. Right-click the BlackBerry smartphone user you wish to remove.
  3. Click Remove User.
  4. When prompted, click Yes to remove the BlackBerry smartphone information from the BlackBerry smartphone user′s mailbox.

Any other BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version and platform

  1. In the left pane of BlackBerry Manager, click the appropriate BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
  2. On the Users tab, click the BlackBerry smartphone user you wish to remove.
  3. Click Account.
  4. Click Delete User.
  5. Click Yes.
  6. Perform one of the following actions:
    • To retain the BlackBerry smartphone information in the BlackBerry smartphone user′s person document and state database, click No.
    • To remove the BlackBerry smartphone information from the BlackBerry smartphone user′s person document and state database, click Yes.

Note: The information removed from the BlackBerry smartphone user′s mailbox during the above steps is only the hidden BlackBerry related information, including PIN, encryption keys, etc. This will not impact the BlackBerry smartphone user′s personal data or email messages in any way.
